It's Honor First Responders Day, and we couldn't let the day get by without thanking the heroes who are often the first faces our emergency patients see when they become injured or sick 💙

In 1985, one of the legacy organizations of the Association for Healthcare Foodservice (AHF) set aside the first week of October to honor and celebrate healthcare foodservice workers. Then, in 1989, Congress officially recognized the first full week of October as Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week. During this week long celebration, we take the time to celebrate the dedicated professionals who are the key ingredient in delivering nutrition excellence to patients. Healthcare foodservice workers are integral to the seamless operation of healthcare facilities on a daily basis. This year, with the grand opening of Healthy Home Cafe, our foodservice workers have seen a large increase in the number of meals they are preparing. We salute these hardworking ladies and appreciate all they do for Optim Medical Center-Screven! Wayne Williams, MD, FACS. Optim Pain Management is pleased to announce that Dr. Jessica R. Reyes, MD, a Fellowship-trained Interventional Pain Management specialist, is joining the Optim Pain Management team. Hurricane Helen Update (4:30 PM 10/3/24) Our hearts go out to everyone still affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. We have also faced significant challenges, and we are pleased to announce that all facilities and specialty services as well as the vast majority of our clinics are now back online and fully operational. Currently, only three of our clinics remain without power and internet access. We sincerely appreciate your continued patience as we work diligently to restore full operations.
