James Van Der Beek’s recent diagnosis of colorectal cancer at 47 highlights a growing concern: the increasing incidence of this disease among younger adults. His story emphasizes the critical need for early detection and awareness. At the National Cancer Institute (NCI)'s Division of Cancer Prevention, we support research on cancer prevention, interception, and early detection. Key strategies in preventing colorectal cancer include regular screenings, a healthy diet, physical activity, and understanding family medical history.
