“I just found that really helpful to have someone outside of the lab who's there to ask you about your lab experience, how that's going, but also there to ask you about how is the move, how is your work-life balance, what's going on with you both professionally and personally,” said iCURE/CURE F31 Scholar Dr. Stephanie Pitts, reflecting on the support she received as an Intramural Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (iCURE) scholar. iCURE provides scholars with opportunities to work closely with world-class biomedical research scientists at the NCI, professional and career development activities, connection to an extensive and sustaining mentoring network, and more! Check out last month’s Inside Cancer Careers podcast to learn more about iCURE from Dr. Pitts and Dr. Jessica Calzola: https://lnkd.in/eg66A65V Want to be part of the next cohort of iCURE scholars? 💡 We are proud to share that researchers supported through the CCHE U54 grant at UMass Boston were recently awarded data science supplements via NIH Office of Data Science Strategy, The National Institutes of Health Office of Research on Women's Health, and the All of Us Research Program. They used this funding to pilot a campus-wide credentialing initiative for students entering the workforce. CCHE’s Partnerships to Advance Cancer Health Equity (PACHE) program enabled Drs. Jill Macoska and Adán Colón-Carmona’s work to increase data science literacy among underserved student populations.
