The Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) is announcing an emergency plea for blood donors to boost inventory following a nearly 20% drop in recent donations. They’re hopeful a blood emergency will raise awareness of the need for blood, encourage first-time and lapsed blood donors to act, and increase blood donations ahead of the holiday season. The holidays are traditionally a challenging time for blood donation, as family gatherings and holiday travel often lead to a decrease in donations. The early drop in donations this year is a particularly troubling trend, and BBD is calling on new and returning donors to make an immediate appointment to donate. We encourage you to donate blood or platelets at a community blood drive or donor center. To make an appointment, visit donate.bbd.org or call 1.888.8.BLOOD.8.

Yesterday evening we celebrated TidalHealth Nanticoke's DAISY nurses at the 2nd Annual Delaware DAISY Gala in Dover, Del. Did you know that Delaware is the first state to have every hospital participating in the DAISY program? What a beautiful tribute to our incredible nurses! 🌼
