We’re happy to announce that this week, Kent County EMS Kent County Levy Court officially went live carrying one unit of low-titer O+ positive whole blood on a supervisor vehicle. 🚑 This makes Delaware the first state in the nation to ensure that all county-level paramedic agencies carry and administer whole blood to trauma patients in the field. 🩸 These lifesaving, onsite blood transfusions are crucial to increasing survival rates for trauma injuries and represent an incredible step forward for emergency care in our community.

This Veterans Day, We Honor Jim – Veteran, Volunteer, and Lifesaver. Jim’s journey of service began in 1967 when he enlisted in the US Army, serving in Vietnam and later as a training officer in Wisconsin. After returning home, he continued his career with American Family Insurance, but his commitment to helping others didn’t stop there. In 1978, Jim made his first blood donation. Since then, he’s become a 76-gallon platelet donor and has volunteered as a blood delivery driver since 2010, ensuring donations reach patients in need. Jim says, "I feel like I’m doing something good for society." This #VeteransDay, we’re celebrating Jim and all veterans who continue to give back in so many ways. Thank you for your service! 💙

With the holiday season approaching, we urgently need donors of all types, especially Type O. Our community depends on a steady flow of donors to ensure our hospitals remain supplied. As we enter this critical time of year, we’re calling on everyone eligible to roll up their sleeves and donate. Your contribution is essential for ensuring that patients in need receive the lifesaving blood they rely on. Schedule a donation: https://bit.ly/4huLJHL
