On 6th October, Translational Health Science and Technology Institute organized a satellite session entitled, “A compelling armour in the diverse toolbox: The promise of broadly neutralizing antibodies as HIV prevention options in times of globally evolving viral variants” at the 5th #HIVR4P2024, the 5th HIV Research for Prevention Conference being held at Lima, Peru between 6-10 October, 2024. The session focused on HIV broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) and evolving HIV variants, where Dr Jayanta Bhattacharya, Dean, THSTI along with other globally renowned scientists Prof Penny Moore, NICD, South Africa, Prof Guido Ferrari, Duke University, Dr Vincent Muturi Kioi, IAVI, Kenya, Torben Schiffner, The Scripps Research and Prof Georgia Tomaras, Duke University presented key advancements made in this field highlighting promising approaches for bnAb mediated HIV-1 prevention. The session was attended by a large number of delegates and conference attendees.
