We’re proud to have achieved Level 9 status in both ambulatory and acute settings in the 2024 Digital Health Most Wired Survey from CHIME. It reflects our commitment to exceptional care. The survey evaluates the adoption, integration and impact of technologies across health care organizations. Among almost 48,000 facilities represented, we rank above peers in critical categories such as analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement. #BetterStartsHere

Because there are no early symptoms, lung cancer is often not found until it has reached an advanced stage — making it the deadliest form of cancer. Screening can catch it early, though, and it is safe, quick and painless. Talk to your doctor to learn more. Two of our recent patients shared their personal journeys as interventions came thankfully in time. New medical advancements were key: https://lnkd.in/ewiMcnMi #BetterStartsHere #LungCancerAwarenessMonth #LCAM

Dr. Vasant Jayasankar recently performed the first robotic standalone surgical maze procedure in the state of South Carolina here at AnMed. This minimally invasive procedure is used to treat atrial fibrillation and does not require opening the patient’s chest or stopping the heart, as is traditionally done for heart surgery. This results in significantly less discomfort, a quicker recovery and much lower risk than traditional heart surgery. The robotic maze procedure not only reduces the risk of stroke, dementia and heart failure from atrial fibrillation, but it can greatly improve quality of life with respect to stamina and energy level. #BetterStartsHere

We’re very proud of the more than 100 veterans we have on our team. At our community ceremony on Monday, two of them received Quilts of Valor in honor of their service, Greg, AnMed Young Adult Primary Care physician assistant, and Brigette, AnMed Cannon operating room nurse manager. #BetterStartsHere

Eight of our young patients enjoyed early mobility in style recently as they drove adapted motorized cars put together by therapists, volunteers and students from AnMed Therapy - Pediatrics, Anderson University’s physical therapy program, our ProConnect employee resource group and our AnMed Foundation. We were touched as wonder and inspiration moved the children. #BetterStartsHere

Dawn was leaving work and walking to her car late one night recently when an elderly woman drove up and asked how to enter the main building at our North Campus. As she responded that every office in the building was closed, Dawn asked how she could provide assistance, and she noticed that the elderly woman was not well. So Dawn called an ambulance. She also used the woman’s cellphone to call her son and alert him to the situation. Once the ambulance arrived and stabilized the woman, Dawn safely parked the woman’s car. For her special efforts and care, Dawn has been named one of our Stars of the Month. She works in our Laboratory Services department. Kendra, who works on our Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit, has also been named a Star of the Month. She took her fingernail supplies up to a patient’s room on her day off to provide some treasured pampering. They chose a pretty color and made the patient’s hospital stay more fun. The patient loved the extra attention. If you’re interested in joining the stars on our team, visit AnMed.org/careers. #BetterStartsHere
