NV5’s North Carolina team has received an ACEC/NC Engineering Excellence Award for the NCDOT I-95 widening project (I-5987AB).   This transformative $530-million project spans 18.7 miles, with three redesigned interchanges and 23 new structures. NV5 provided comprehensive planning, survey/SUE, environmental, and engineering services to deliver critical infrastructure improvements.   Key accomplishments include: ✅ Establishing a 9.2-mile baseline and integrating data from four firms. ✅ Delineating 9,000 linear feet of streams and 64 acres of wetlands. ✅ Completing right-of-way plans in eight months and construction plans in ten.   This milestone reflects our team’s commitment to delivering innovative, efficient, and high-quality solutions for our clients, which resulted in the planning and NEPA assignment of the adjoining I-6064 project. We are honored by ACEC-NC’s recognition.

A client purchased a basic Basilosaurus framework with 10,000 surfaces, but they envisioned something more—a Basilosaurus that looks like it's swimming through the museum exhibit.   Enter our talented NV5 team member, Jason Frontera! Using Autodesk 3DS Max and Formit, Jason collaborated closely with the client to add intricate angles and details throughout the body of this prehistoric whale.
