Gas what? 💨 #OurJacobs is working on an innovative project with Anglian Water Services to address a triple carbon synergy- reducing greenhouse gases (GHG) and energy use in wastewater treatment, potentially producing renewable energy as green hydrogen. Currently, wastewater treatment is carbon-intensive due to high energy use and the production of potent GHG like methane and nitrous oxide. Funded through Ofwat’s Innovation Fund, this trial demonstrates the concept for wider implementation, involving industry experts and a demonstration plant at the water recycling center.
