Meet this month's Who is Wendel spotlight, Justin Parish, RA, K-12 Market Leader, and Sr. Associate Principal. Justin is an Architect with over 10 years of experience working on K-12 schools, midrise mixed-use commercial buildings, multifamily housing, and hotels. He grew up in Orchard Park, NY, and now resides in Youngstown, NY. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, spending time with his wife and dogs, and being an uncle. #ConstructionWatch: Cadott Schools celebrated the groundbreaking of their new 29,000 sf addition. After passing a $9M referendum, Wendel assisted the district in the design of the spaces, including a tech ed center, fabrication lab, classroom space, safe and secure entrance, district office, and Middle School and High School office. Superintendent Josh Spaeth said it best, “Thanks to our community support, we're creating something far greater, a facility that will always serve and impact our students for generations to come.”

Congratulations to Ann E. Casey, AIA, LEED AP for being named one of the 40 Under 40 honorees in Buffalo Business First! Ann’s talent and passion for architecture are second to none. She’s dedicated to the community-building aspect of the profession, including re-activating WNY’s cherished existing architecture, being a custodian of public safety, and perhaps most importantly, enhancing universal access to build spaces for all types of people. Ann came to Buffalo to attend the University at Buffalo for her Master of Architecture degree and MBA. Baker Hall at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is a two-story brick dormitory built in 1966. The University requested an interior renovation that would give it a brighter, timeless feel, would serve as a template for the interior renovation planned for the remaining 13 residence halls on campus, and would incorporate air-conditioning where there had previously only been fin tube radiant heating. Wendel’s Master Builder® approach allowed this project to be completed seven months and Wendel returned approximately $266,000 of unused contingency funds at project completion. #ThisIsWendel #PortfolioDay
