With over two decades of experience in real estate investment and portfolio management, Larissa V. Belova has demonstrated a deep commitment to sustainable and affordable housing strategies. Her leadership roles at CBRE Investment Management, Thor Equities Group and Jonathan Rose Companies have equipped her with valuable insights that will support our work to advance policies to boost housing production and preservation. Wendy Penn, Vice President of Affordable Housing Initiatives at the Mortgage Bankers Association, leads MBA’s #CONVERGENCE initiative, driving housing affordability efforts in key markets across the country. Wendy’s strategic oversight and collaborative work with stakeholders make her a vital addition to our board as we seek to strengthen and scale our member network's advocacy for federal #ProHousing policies. Housing across America, in communities large and small, is limited due to layers of regulatory barriers and limited resources. Zoning regulations in cities with under 100,000 residents often delay or prevent new housing development, impacting communities like Kaufman County, TX, where teacher shortages led to shortened school weeks tied to housing affordability issues. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has a crucial role to play in addressing these challenges by promoting effective zoning reforms, offering scalable solutions, and providing guidance and resources to small and medium-sized cities. Today, Senator John Fetterman and Rep.
