Honestly, the key to delegating effectively and avoiding burnout is knowing what actually needs your attention and what doesn’t. Here's how I go about it: 1️⃣ Set priorities: Focus on what only you can do and delegate the rest. 2️⃣ Trust your team: Hand over tasks and let them run with it. 3️⃣ Be clear: Explain what you want, when you need it, and what success looks like. 4️⃣ Use tools: Apps like Trello or Notion keep everyone aligned. 5️⃣ Start small: Delegate simple tasks first to build trust. 6️⃣ Check in, not out: Stay in the loop but let others own their part. It’s all about balance and trusting the process! 🧘♂️

First: Take care of yourself! I had a burnout. To me that means find a coach, take a break, sleep enough (works wonders!), exercice. And yes besides those crucially important topics, delegation is also vedy important. Delegating tasks that other people could do 80% as well, delegating tasks that are not highly critical for your goals etc. Besides that: prioritise! Only focus on the high importance work and point out to your colleagues that you are currently at your limit, so you won‘t be able to do X,Y,Z. Lastly: learn to say No! Don‘t take on new things if they aren‘t super important.

Break the cycle. It is common for entrepreneurs not to relinquish control, especially in the beginning. Burnout needs to become more overwhelming that the tasks you are struggling to delegate. Once this becomes your view, the delegation will become easier as you realise that you will be able to contribute a fraction of what you could if you are burn out. Start with smaller tasks and build on the habit of delegation.

Are you feeling overwhelmed? Delegation is your secret weapon to reclaim sanity and focus. Start by identifying tasks that drain your energy or don’t need your personal touch—things like admin work, customer inquiries, or routine operations. Next, match these tasks to team members who have the skills (or can learn them) and clearly explain the “what” and “why” behind each job. Give them ownership but be available for support. Still worried it won’t get done right? Shift your mindset: delegation isn’t losing control—it’s multiplying your impact. Focus on the high-value tasks only you can do, and trust your team to handle the rest. You’ll not only avoid burnout but empower others to grow alongside you.
