On a recent episode of chlorophyll podcast, Meetul Patel, President, Entrepreneurship & Government Digital Transformation, Wadhwani Foundation, was asked about the reasons that made him join the Wadhwani Foundation. Explaining the reasoning behind his move, Meetul spoke of the three worlds that exist in society. World 1 being the World of Surplus, which comprises people that have their basic needs met and have a little more to explore life. World 2 being the World on the Edge of Sustenance, which comprises people that are struggling to maintain basic decent living standards on a daily basis. And World 3 being the World of Survival, which comprises people subject to war, disease, famines, or other such life-threatening events. Of these, Meetul reasoned, it was the World on the Edge of Sustenance that was the most underserved, and which also accounted for a majority of the world’s population. And while he acknowledged the efforts that were being put in by governments around the world, he felt there was still room to do so much more in enabling this section of the populace.  And that is where he felt an innate connection with the Wadhwani Foundation’s mission to uplift millions by enabling them to earn family-sustaining wages. The journey that thus began over two years ago has been, to put it in Meetul’s words, “challenging and fulfilling”!
