I spent last week in Heidelberg, Germany attending Laboratory Leadership for postdocs course #EMBOLabLead. Totally insightful experience! Lots of information to digest and tools to implement for my current position as well as future career steps. Topics discussed: - What is Leadership? Manage or Lead? - Leading with Values - Leadership Roles & expectations - Team dynamics - Impact of organisational context - Personality types - Emotional Intelligence - Communication - Feedback - Resolving conflicts - Motivation - Delegation Facilitators Petra Pandur from Leadership Sculptor GmbH and Céline Carret from EMBO Solutions GmbH opened us super safe space for self-reflections, questions and discussions. July’24 cohort was full of likeminded scientists from different career stages coming from different countries - all shared similar problems/concerns and learned ways to create & maintain better academic environment for future generations.
