At OutsideClinic, it is important to us that those who struggle to access traditional eye care services should get the same quality eye care where they live - including in care homes and residential settings. ❤️We love our work at OutsideClinic - the difference we make in peoples lives like Jean at Cherry Lodge (https://loom.ly/XU-hYIw) and Eric after our visit (https://loom.ly/RmOj9Rc). But we also love the colleagues that we meet along the way - our virtual optometrists next door that support us every day, our schedulers that build our routes and in particular our partnerships formed on the road. Our latest video reflects that - how we share the load, reflect on the day and find moments of companionship - whether its a thoughtful conversation or a simple bag of crisps. It's about having a partner who's not just an assistant, but an equal and a friend! Did you miss the video? 📹 Catch up here: https://loom.ly/wkcimSA If you ever considered domiciliary, discover more about us on our website - we change lives, and with the best support available you could too! 🔗Discover more 👉 https://loom.ly/aVO_vDI #CareHomeOptometry #Optometrists #Domiciliary #MakeADifference #ChangingLives #Partnerships

🌍 Just had our monthly Greener Practice York & North Yorkshire meeting with 9 enthusiastic HCPs chatting about how to improve staff morale. 🥇Today's focus was on 'making your Practice more active', for both patients and staff. We must make lifestyle advice, including activity, first line in consultations. If HCPs are promoting and discussing activity, rather than solely medication, it could be really impactful. As could setting an example ourselves! Cycling or walking to work, walking round the local area during meetings, doing local parkruns, etc... Some fantastic examples from Millfield Surgery, Millfield Lane, Easingwold and Selby District Council Sarah Jane Mcdonaugh Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles Some practical take-home ideas: 📜 Become an #ActivePractice. 🏃♀️ Participate in or take-over a parkrun. 📲 Add resources to your website on #5kYourWay and #CouchTo5k 🚶♂️ Do walking meetings or #WalkingTutorials with trainees & students. 🗺 Put local maps and nature walk leaflets in your waiting room. What have I missed off this list above? #healthcare #nhs #healthcreation #wellbeing #wellbeingwalk #wellness #mentalhealth #primarycare #generalpractice British Society of Lifestyle Medicine

As I reflect on our journey at Podiatry Practice Mastery, I’m struck by the realization that success is not solely measured in dollars. It’s about creating a practice environment where each day is rewarding and balanced. We've introduced techniques like working with a scribe, which not only improved our note quality and productivity but significantly enhanced our daily work satisfaction. I also want to touch on the innovative approach of utilizing reps not just for sales but as an integral part of our patient care process. This strategic shift has allowed us to focus more on what we do best — patient care — while expanding our network through targeted one-pagers and strategic partnerships. The journey of integrating these elements has been pivotal in advancing towards that million-dollar mark, not just financially but holistically. For those looking to reshape their practice's future, consider looking beyond the traditional methods. Sometimes, the best investment is in the structure and support systems around you. "Just because everyone else is doing it or has accepted it as the standard doesn’t mean we have to follow suit. And just because no one else is doing it or hasn’t thought about it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t explore new ideas. " This week, I’m focusing on what drives me and The Foot Studio—ensuring our treatment plans, goals, and processes are all aligned with the level of care we strive to deliver every day. It’s crucial to me that every patient receives the highest standard of care, no matter which practitioner they see or which clinic they visit. It’s simply not fair or acceptable for a patient to only get “good” outcomes with one practitioner. Sharing treatment responsibilities not only leads to better patient outcomes, but it also reduces the load on individual practitioners, allows patients to benefit from a team approach, and helps a business function smoothly, even during sick days and leave. Research shows that the average lifespan of a podiatrist in the profession is about 10 years. It’s our responsibility as business owners to create a supportive environment where podiatrists feel valued, empowered, and passionate enough to stay in this rewarding career long-term. I’m also reflecting on how we can foster an environment where our team feels supported to do their best work. When podiatrists feel valued, they grow, remain passionate about their careers, and continue to thrive in the profession. 🌱 I’m looking forward to engaging in collaborative discussions and learning from my incredible staff and colleagues as we continue to push forward together. 🤝 Let’s start this week with a focus on delivering exceptional care, setting meaningful goals, and continuously improving our processes. Together, we can truly make a difference in the lives of our patients. Here’s to a week of progress, growth, and staying true to what’s important. When you’re talking to your patients about orthotics, don’t just explain —show them how it works. Take a few moments during their visit to hold their foot and demonstrate how the orthotic will stabilize it and reduce the strain in the plantar fascia, heel region as well reduce movement that can cause tendon and joint pain. Let them see and feel the difference for themselves. When patients can actually experience what you’re talking about, it makes everything clearer. They start to understand why orthotics aren’t just an extra expense—they’re an important part of their treatment that can really help them feel better. This simple, hands-on demo shows that you care about their health and want to help them make the best decision. It also builds trust, which is so important in your patient relationships. If you’re looking for more tips like this to make your practice even better, be sure to check out Podiatry Practice Mastery https://lnkd.in/dFggrMeR. It’s packed with helpful ideas and strategies that can really make a difference in how you run your practice. #podiatry #podiatrist #dpm #podiatrylife #foothealth #practicemanagement #podiatrypracticemastery #milliondollarclub

Transforming Organizational Performance to Deliver Outstanding Business Results | Organizational Leadership Consultant | Executve Coaching and Development
Earlier this month, I found myself in an emergency room in a Chicago hospital. I had tweaked my back during our move from Madison, Wisconsin to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (lugging too many boxes will do that do you, I guess!) and as the weeks went by and we got settled in our new home, the tweak gave way to something more serious. I didn't know how serious until I woke up in a Chicago hotel room and couldn't move. I won't bore you with all the details. I'll just say this: ambulance, emergency room, then emergency surgery a few days later. This scenario is a little wild on its own, but to add to the story, I had just started a new consulting gig with a company two days before. And that's the reason I'm telling this story. Because it's how they treated me after all of this that shows I selected the right client to work with. This organization went above and beyond to support me. Checking in to see how I was doing. Sending me a get-well-soon gift after my surgery. Coordinating and communicating with my wife, who was in South Carolina when the injury happened, worried and was having trouble trying to get to me as soon as possible. And, it's worth saying that they wanted me to come back. They didn't have to keep me, right? They have problems to solve, and the clock is ticking. But they were willing to wait. We talk all the time about working with companies that share our values. But what does that really mean? What it means are all of the actions I've experienced over the past few weeks. When you work with clients based on shared values, it almost always turns out to be the start of a great relationship. Both during and long after the project is done. #Consulting #CompanyCulture #CompanyValues #ClientGreenFlags
