We need to recruit corporations and job creators like Joby Aviation to our states. They are the future and have no other agenda but the future. Recruiting forward-thinking companies like Joby Aviation, which is working on innovations in electric air taxis, could indeed position states as leaders in future-focused industries. These companies bring high-quality jobs, stimulate economic growth, and often drive advancements in technology, infrastructure, and sustainability. By attracting businesses that prioritize innovation and future-oriented solutions, states can create hubs for cutting-edge industries, from green technology to advanced manufacturing. Supporting these companies can also inspire local educational institutions to build relevant programs, aligning workforce skills with industry needs. Plus, companies like Joby Aviation focus on green transportation, which aligns with broader sustainability goals and may attract talent interested in working on transformative, meaningful projects. To succeed in recruiting these job creators, states might consider offering incentives like tax breaks, grants for research and development, infrastructure improvements, and partnerships with local universities. By positioning themselves as supportive environments for innovation, states can drive economic growth in a way that aligns with a future-focused agenda that benefits both the business and the local community.
On Veterans Day, we express our gratitude every person who has served for their commitment and dedication to our nation — and in particular the many veterans who are part of the Joby team. Thank you for your service, and Happy Veterans Day!

Today, as we observe Veterans Day, it’s a time not only to honor those who have served but to reflect on our responsibilities as veterans and citizens. For veterans, the duty extends beyond our service terms—it becomes our obligation to advocate for those still in uniform, who often cannot speak openly about the realities of military service. This responsibility underscores a critical dialogue about what “thank you for your service” truly means. A few years ago, I recorded an episode post-Veterans Day discussing this very topic, challenging us to think beyond the phrase. When we say thanks, are we backing it up with actions that genuinely support our troops and veterans? Are we considering the human costs of military service and ensuring our military is used in ways that align with our national values? It's not just about acknowledgment but engagement—understanding the sacrifices involved and taking active steps to mitigate the costs borne by our servicemembers and their families. This Veterans Day, let's pledge to do more than thank our veterans. Let’s commit to listening, supporting, and advocating—ensuring their voices, especially those of current servicemembers who face constraints, are heard and heeded. To those still serving, to the veterans, and to the military families: your experiences matter, your sacrifices are recognized, and your voices are crucial in shaping a conscientious approach to how we, as a nation, conduct and discuss our military engagements. What steps can we, as a society, take to move beyond mere thanks to meaningful support? How can we ensure our military’s use reflects our core values as a nation?

3 simple ways you can honor a veteran this Monday, on Veterans Day. 🇺🇸 🪖Veterans Day (Nov 11) is a time to recognize all U.S. military veterans—living or deceased—for their service. 🎖️While Memorial Day (last Monday in May) specifically honors those who died in service. This Monday, I encourage you to do 3 simple things to show your gratitude: 1. Recognize Acknowledge their service with a simple, heartfelt “Thank you for your service.” It goes a long way. 2. Inquire Show genuine interest by asking questions like, “What branch did you serve in?” or “What was your role?” People appreciate when others take the time to ask about their experience. 3. Listen This is the most important part. Give them the space and time to share their story, and really listen. If they want to talk, be there for them. Ask follow-up questions like, “What was one of your most memorable moments?” If a veteran is reluctant to share, that’s okay too—simply thank them for their service and respect their space. These small gestures can make a big impact. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope these tips help you connect with and honor the veterans in your life.

On this Veterans Day, let’s remember that those who suffer from respiratory conditions like asthma and COPD deserve real action, not just words. Too often, we see arguments based on opinions rather than on the data and standards needed to protect public health. Let’s prioritize clean air, water, food, stricter environmental standards, and preventive measures over quick fixes. The health of veterans and civilians alike should not be compromised by pollutants and harmful products. Wake up, America—the path forward is through sustainable change, not temporary solutions.
