On 6th September 2024, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India in collaboration with the Sankala Foundation supported by the NITI Aayog and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare organised a National Conference on `Universal Access to Healthcare: Digital Solutions’, at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Joint Secy, health ministry cautions on tech integration in healthcare, calls for social appraisal before adoption Speaking at the fourth edition of the ETHealthworld Healthcare Leaders Summit, Dr. Manashvi Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, stressed, "When we talk about technology, we have to be cognizant of the fact that it does have a social cost, so it is very important that we conduct a social appraisal of technology before putting it into action."
