When do you pivot as a start-up? 🤔 Bogdan Ivtsjenko and I have been running HireSplit for several weeks. Whilst the ethos is still (relatively) the same🔄, the product has substantially changed and our marketing strategy is now completely different. 🔄 This got me thinking, when do you make a change? When I was at Liquid Personnel we made changes several changes over the years. One of the biggest one's to have impact was Alex Elliott's decision to separate the adults and children's desks. There was a lot of pushback (including from me!! 😅). However with a clear plan 📝 and getting the internal champions onside, it was a roaring success 🎉 and saw the adults desks really take off and become substantial billing desks. The increased specialisation was part of Liquid Personnel's journey to become the giant it is 🏢. What have your experiences been in change? Here’s my journey from solo founder to taking on our first hire at Dial A Geek. Life was busy at the time. We’d purchased a project house to fit our expanding family into. The upshot was that I had to project manage the new house, run the business single-handedly, and be a present and loving dad and husband. Something had to give. So, we took on our first hire out of necessity. This was an important step on the Dial A Geek journey, and it taught me a real lesson about the importance of letting go and trusting people. We now have a team of 9 people, and we’re continuing to grow. ⏳ It was mid- 2️⃣ 0️⃣ 2️⃣ 1️⃣ and Divvy had just wrapped up its remarkable temporary shift to help companies secure PPP loans. (If you were there, you know.)
