Stigma surrounding substance use disorders (SUD) remains a significant barrier, preventing many from seeking the help they need. The National Institute on Drug Abuse highlights that stigma can manifest through negative public attitudes, discrimination, and even policies that treat individuals with SUD differently from those with other medical conditions. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration emphasizes that reducing stigma involves educating communities about SUD as a chronic, treatable condition, rather than a moral failing or character flaw. Despite evidence-based treatments being effective, only a small minority of people with a substance use disorder receive specialized treatment. Let's work together to end stigma! #addiction #addictiontreatment #recovery #recoveryispossible #stopthestigma #endstigma

With the holidays here, now more than ever let’s protect children of addiction. My wife,tonibellon.com is an adult child of an abusive alcoholic mother. Her holidays were a torture. Keep doing God’s work daily to give the family a chance to recovery
