Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd introduces a trio of racing phenoms ahead of the F1 season: The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team had arguably its best season ever just a year ago. With nine podium finishes and 280 Championship points, the British luxury carmaker reminded the public of its high-performance motorsport technology. This upcoming season, it hopes to recreate the same success. New Aston Martin Vantage Gets A Sexy GT3 Racing Twin https://lnkd.in/ehNX8ueb Ahead of revealing its 2024 Formula 1 contender later tonight, Aston Martin has unveiled a new Vantage sports car and this: the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3. This is not a roadgoing alternative to the Porsche 911 GT3; it's a dedicated race car for customer racing in GT3 classes at the FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, and the Fanatec GT World Challenge, among others. As the first product of a collaboration between Aston Martin Racing and Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT) - which has already collaborated on the Valhalla supercar - it breaks new ground for the automaker, which has seen substantial investment in recent years and a resurgence in motorsport, partially buoyed by its Formula 1 involvement. As Adam Carter, Aston Martin's Head of Endurance Motorsport, explains, "The new GT3 is our first opportunity to use AMPT to play a role in leveraging the capabilities, attitude and methodologies of all of Aston Martin's various nerve centers, which we've then combined with the unrivaled GT program management expertise of AMR."

TEAM NEWS: Alpine co-launches 2024 F1 and WEC racers After something of a turbulent year in Formula 1, with a major shakeup of senior management, Alpine is hoping that 2024 will bring it greater success on multiple motorsport fronts. In a somewhat unusual move, the company chose to launch its latest F1 challenger – the A524 – and its A424 LMDh due to race in the FIA World Endurance Championship, at the same event. F1 team technical director Matt Harman explained that the company’s 2024 F1 machine had followed a more aggressive approach than its predecessor. “We maxed out the potential on the A523 and so the A524 is completely new from front to back.” According to Bruno Famin, VP of Alpine Motorsports, “The A424 has completed more than 15,000km with no significant problems disrupting our program, but now only the verdict on the track matters.” The main attraction of the current LMH rules is the ability to incorporate considerable brand identity into the cars without paying a performance penalty. “One of the crucial aspects of these regulations is that they allow us to have our racing prototype foreshadowing some features of our future road cars. We were able to take full advantage of this thanks to our design department teams,” said Alpine CEO Philippe Krief. WEC. WOW. A new Golden Age of motorsport. WEC Hypercar 2024. What a debut for the Alpine A424, 8th overall in the Qatar 1812km race, and the first of the new 2024 entrants across the line. After nearly 10 hours of flat out racing, the #35 car was just 37 seconds behind Ferrari, winners of Le Mans in 2023. #36 was 12th, the team completing a mind-boggling 665 laps between them.
