Moving forward together
Inauguration Day at theion: A new milestone in the development of solid-state batteries! On September 4, camLine, an Elisa IndustrIQ company, had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of Theion's new development center in Berlin. Together with key players from Theion's business network and the Senate of Berlin, we celebrated the progress in solid-state battery technology. As part of our joint and successful PoC on battery life prediction using machine learning in an early development phase, we were able to demonstrate the added value of our solution: 🔹 Increase in test capacity 🔹 Saving additional resources and costs 🔹 Transfer sustainable knowledge for process stabilization and cell quality factors This helps Theion to enter mass production faster and gain a competitive advantage in the market with higher yields and quality. A big thank you to Dr.-Ing. Ulrich Ehmes, Martin Schaupp, Matthias Fengler, Thomas Pehl, Aamir Iqbal Waidha, Isabel Kim and the whole team at Theion for the great collaboration and the opportunity to be part of this exciting project phase! #Innovation #SolidStateBatteries #MachineLearning #BatteryTechnology #camLine #ElisaIndustrIQ #Theion

CEO OneD Battery Sciences, Inc. (HQ Palo Alto, Silicon Valley + subs in Moses Lake WA and Munich Germany)
Safe Fast Charging of EV batteries is an important and complex topic. Here is a recently (May 2024) published review of the role of the Solid Electrolyte Interface (SEI) which is formed on the active materials during the cell formation process in the EV cell factory. The full article can be downloaded for free at: https://lnkd.in/gp6pASMP Recently, OneD Battery Sciences' CTO Yimin Zhu and Senior Scientist Chunsheng Du (who have worked together for more than a decade on the SINANODE technologies), invented a novel inexpensive surface coating never used before by anyone in the battery industry (based on extensive searches of scientific articles and patent filings around the world). The SINANODE materials are based on silicon nanowires grown inside the pores of natural or synthetic graphite particles from Anode Active Materials from several EV-qualified suppliers. The OneD novel invention provides a thin layer that allows for a more uniform and more stable SEI. Testing on EV cells prototypes (format 46XX) have shown that it is possible to achieve 4C charging between 20% and 80% of SOC, without degradation of the capacity retention over the cycle life. Of course, OneD is not an EV cell maker and OneD collacborates with multiple partners to optimize the anode active materials, the electrode coating, the cell designs and other aspects, in a step-by-step approach. #evbatteries #fastcharging
