- [Instructor] The Lasso tool is an alternative to the Select tool for selecting entities. You can find this by using the down arrow next to your Select icon. Lasso. This function works a lot like the traditional Select tool. If you click and drag, it creates a selection box, but this time it's a more organic shape. Items that are fully within that selection area become selected. If we use this lasso from right to left, just like the traditional Select tool, if we go from left to right, we get a dashed line and everything within that selection area that is inside of it or touching it becomes selected. So again, click and drag from right to left to select things that are fully within the selection area, and click and drag from left to right to select things that are fully within or simply touching the selection area.
