I found the ordering of topics confusing, especially in the first section. There's a reason beyond just tradition why the first thing you learn to do in a new programming language is print "Hello, world"--printing is the simplest thing you can do, and is necessary for practicing anything else. This course didn't cover "echo" until the *end* of the first section, having already explained the time command and sourcing and other things that aren't much practical use to a beginner. Many of the videos cover too much material at once without providing practice: the file operators one, in particular, lists ALL of the possible ways to redirect output without giving you a chance to get comfortable with the simpler ones.
I got more out of this course after watching https://www.linkedin.com/learning/learning-linux-shell-scripting-2018 first; it doesn't go in as much depth but I found it more beginner-friendly. Even so, I'm halfway through and I'm not sure if I'm going to finish.
