- You may have used other AI tools where you can upload a document or a picture, then ask the AI questions about that content. The AI chat in NotebookLM really specializes in that type of interaction. Once you've added sources to your notebook, the AI chat can act as your research assistant. You can ask almost any question about the information in those sources. I have five sources that I've added to this notebook, but before we use the AI chat, if you want to exclude any of these sources, you can click the checkbox next to it to deselect it. So I will deselect the company story document. Next, at the bottom, you will find the chat field. In that chat field, I will ask, "What is the name of the Kinetico headquarters building?" Now it found the address for the headquarters building, but not the name of the building. So back in the source list, I will enable that company story document again, then ask the question again.
