- [Narrator] Being a technical person while assisting non-technical staff can be a challenge, we need to find better ways to communicate with the people that we assist. We can start by being a better listener. We want to avoid interruptions and distractions during calls that can quickly result in misunderstandings and possibly missed opportunities. Make sure that you're not on your mobile phone doing texting or looking in videos when you should be listening to the client. The most important thing you can do to automatically improve your communication on the phone would be to start listening actively. What's active listening? Well, that's when you pay close attention to the caller and repeat back important details to make sure you fully understand what their issues are. Simply doing this will let the caller know you have been listening and you understand what the issues are, and the importance of getting those issues…
