Platform as a service
- [Narrator] Platform as a Service, or PaaS, exists as a service-led component of the NIST cloud reference architecture within service orchestration of the service provider. Platform as a Service builds upon Infrastructure as a Service by adding the operating system, integration with development services, and Middleware. In its simplest form, Platform as a Service takes the next step and provides a virtual machine with the operating system and supporting software ready to go as an operational system. This can be used to load and launch an existing customer's application service, and is a typical approach used when migrating into the cloud. Development Platform as a Service removes much of the complexity and administrative activity associated with development and operating environments, enabling rapid deployment of customer applications.
