- [Instructor] Now let's take a look at bookmarks. Like links, bookmarks can be clicked to take the user to specific areas within the PDF document or to other locations, but whereas links are created within the document itself and can only be accessed from the pages on which they reside, bookmarks live in the navigation pane, which is always available, no matter what page is currently visible. Bookmarks are really useful in sort of a table of contents capacity, giving the readers a way to quickly find important sections of the PDF. I'm going to come over here to the navigation pane on the left. In case you don't see these icons, remember you can collapse and expand that pane by clicking the vertical bar, and the bookmarks pane is shown by selecting the icon that looks like a bookmark.
