Block or unblock a member

You can block a member from viewing your profile using your desktop or mobile device. Once you've blocked a member, they'll appear on your blocked list. The blocked member won't receive any notification of this action.

Notes

  • If you’re blocking someone that you currently or previously have shared a LinkedIn Recruiter account with, we reserve the right to notify this member of your block.
  • There is no limit to how many members you can block.
  • You’ll have to wait 48 hours before re-blocking the same member after unblocking. 
  • Recommendations from members you block will no longer appear in your profile. At this time, recommendations from a member you blocked cannot be reinstated if you unblock them.
  • If you have blocked more than 2000 members, you may not be able to unblock someone you have previously blocked. You can contact support for help unblocking.
To block a member from viewing your profile:
  1. Go to the profile of the person you'd like to block.
  2. Click the More… button below the member’s profile picture and select Report/Block from the list.
  3. Select Block [member name] from the Report or block pop-up menu.

  4. Click Block to proceed or Back to review your options.

To unblock a member:
  1. Click the Me icon at top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Select Settings & Privacy.
  3. In the Visibility section, select Blocking listed under Visibility of your profile & network.

  4. From your blocked list, find the person's name and click Unblock.
