President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints dedicated the Deseret Peak Utah Temple in Tooele, Utah earlier this month. “When I contemplate the privilege of dedicating the Deseret Peak Utah Temple this weekend, I am filled with awe at all the Lord is doing for His people. “When I was born, there were just six operating temples in the Church. The Deseret Peak Temple will be the 200th in the world. "Just think of it! It took the Church until the year 2000 to dedicate the first 100 temples, and now, just 24 years later, we are dedicating the second 100."—President Russell M. I have ADHD. Having a job that supports my strengths, as well as my needs, has been incredible! I’m a program manager for the Welfare and Self-Reliance Services Department of the Church. In my role, I have the privilege of developing and managing the self-reliance programs in the Deseret Industries stores, Humanitarian Center, and Deseret Manufacturing facilities. We serve all of God’s children who are looking for a vocational boost, who want to learn their superpowers, identify and overcome weaknesses, and overcome barriers that are holding them back. Supporting our friends as they overcome generational poverty, drug addiction, homelessness, incarceration, health challenges, employment gaps, and other vocational barriers to launch into successful careers with other businesses is incredible! These courageous individuals break cycles that impact generations. What a privilege it is to serve them. I also love working for an organization where love, integrity, and continuous improvement are at the forefront.
