Fantastic turnout at AMIA (American Medical Informatics Association)! Team Quadrant Health had the privilege of engaging with leading minds in bioinformatics and generative AI. We presented our joint study with Stanford Health Care (Stanford Healthcare AI Applied Research Team) showcasing our custom LLM for patient message categorization within patient portals where we validated its ability to discern (1) workflow type and (2) level of staff review required. Key highlights and takeaways:  📈 Providers are experiencing a dramatic increase in patient messages per year.  📥 Current inbox management workflows are inefficient and limited by manual review from non-clinical staff.  🚫 Patients often mislabel their message types—our study showed <50% accuracy. 🔥 Our model demonstrated > 0.9 AUROC across 9 distinct message types. ✅ AI categorization can accurately and instantly sort messages and identify who is needed for each task - massively reducing inbox burden and delays in care.
