“Each choice you make with your hands when creating a piece is an extension of yourself." Annika Inez, founder of her eponymous jewelry brand, is known for sculptural, minimalist designs in silver, gold, and glass. "You can explain and verbalize inspiration, but the true beauty lies in the emotional process of shaping each piece." Our new series, Think Outside the Office spotlights NeueHouse members whose work defies the traditional desk job. Meet Annika: https://lnkd.in/gEHNGB5w

"The greatest way to demonstrate how much music affects movies — play it with absolutely no music at all. And then go back and play it with all the cues, and you'll recognize the brilliance of John Williams." — Steven Spielberg. From Jurassic Park to Indiana Jones to Harry Potter, the scores of John Williams are cultural touchstones, as timeless as the films themselves. Director Laurent Bouzereau joins us this week at NeueHouse Hollywood for a private screening of his new documentary, Music By John Williams, followed by conversation about going behind the scenes with the peerless composer and his collaborators. Hope to see you there! Explore Memberships at NeueHouse: https://lnkd.in/eDsifjUj

"Costume is catharsis—a chance to find yourself in disguise." Following the premiere of Brim Broome Boulevard at NeueHouse Madison Square last week, writer/director PJ Magerko Liquorice shares inspirations behind the short film, his thoughts on pushing artistic boundaries, and the power of costume as both disguise and revelation. 👻 Link to full NeueJournal interview at https://lnkd.in/eBdZZP9N.

Saam Gabbay is an Iranian-American photographer and director whose lens has captured awe-inspiring glaciers in Antarctica and towering sand dunes of Death Valley, both for commercial shoots and personal projects. But that’s not all he does. The director-photographer is also a self-taught composer and creative polymath who, in his spare time ventures into the worlds of immersive experiences and music. Whether it’s through his superhero workshops that invite participants to explore their identities or his immersive, genre-defying concerts, Saam lives to create moments that challenge perception and spark connection. : https://lnkd.in/eTd8XXAt

"The screening of a stop-motion short film is, perhaps, not the most likely place to find drag queens, designers, socialites, and editors on a Friday night in New York City. Yet the viewing party of “Brim Broome Boulevard,” written and directed by PJ Magerko Liquorice brought together a colorful crowd that reflected the project’s artistic daring." Thank you to Vogue for the beautiful coverage of the "Brim Broom Boulevard" screening NeueHouse Madison Square! Costumes and sets from the film will remain on view in the Penthouse exhibition through the end of October. https://lnkd.in/e4GYnCHy "

Looking back at the incisive dialogue led by The Business of Fashion Sarah Kent, with industry leaders Ali Mize, Chief Sustainability Officer at Neiman Marcus Group; climate journalist Sophia Li; and PJ Smith, Director of Fashion Policy at The Humane Society. Held during Climate Week at NeueHouse Madison Square, the conversation explored how brands, cultural figures, policymakers, and, most critically, consumers, hold the power to ignite transformative shifts within the fashion industry’s complex ecosystem.
