Molina Healthcare of Nevada and Bristlecone Family Resources joined KOLO-TV 8 News Now ABC to discuss our partnership to expand substance abuse treatment services at Bristlecone’s health center in Reno. Molina has long supported Bristlecone’s mission to house and treat underserved communities suffering from addiction in Northern Nevada. We recently provided Bristlecone with a $20,000 grant to increase access to care and services at their health center, expand their intensive outpatient program to serve 200 more clients and increase the availability of aftercare to program alumni continuing their recovery journey. The grant partnership builds on our commitment to investing in community-based organizations to improve access to behavioral health care for Nevadans. Substance use disorder and other mental disorders often co-occur, and mental disorders have been found to contribute to substance abuse, informing our proactive and holistic approach to addressing the needs of our community members. During U.S. Antibiotics Awareness Week, we're highlighting the importance of using antibiotics correctly. Antibiotics are powerful tools for fighting bacterial infections, but they won't work for viral illnesses like the flu or common cold. Remember: • Always follow your health care provider’s instructions. • Complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better. • Avoid demanding antibiotics if your health care provider says they aren’t needed. Let’s ensure these medications remain effective for those who truly need them. 💊#USAntibioticsAwarenessWeek #AntibioticStewardship #HealthyChoices #PatientEducation

The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation (MolinaCares), in collaboration with Passport by Molina Healthcare, donated $25,000 to the Rita June Foundation, Inc. to support its efforts to combat food insecurity through the organization’s pantry program. The MolinaCares funding is the largest donation ever for the Louisville-based pantries. The donation will purchase 9,500 pounds of food. According to Feeding America’s most recent data, nearly 102,000 individuals were considered food insecure in 2022 in Jefferson County. That’s up from 77,700 in 2021, marking a 31% increase in just one year. From 2019 to 2023, the price of food rose by 25%. To address the growing need the Rita June Foundation, started by LDG Development, Inc., opened five strategically-located pantries in affordable housing properties across Louisville, stocked solely by the donations of the company’s employees. | LDG Development, LLC
