Like all things - build a solid , honest relationship . Communicate effectively, build rapport , meet face to face , spend time understanding the hurdles / returns the investor needs to demonstrate to its own investors . No one is going to write a cheque on Day 1 ( well maybe if you are Mistral! ) but it takes time and authenticity . People / VCs have to want to back you , have a reason to put you up in front of credit committee and to go the whole ride with you .

Building trust with VCs involves consistently sending high-quality deal flow that aligns with their investment strategy and interests. It's important to maintain transparency, especially when a deal is facing challenges. This openness fosters a relationship built on honesty, reliability and integrity. Over time, your ability to identify and present solid opportunities, while managing difficult situations responsibly, will establish a strong reputation and deepen trust with fellow VCs.

In venture capital, trust is your most valuable currency. Lead with deep expertise and back it with solid data—investors invest in judgment first. Be radically transparent about both wins and challenges; they respect honesty over perfection. Let your network work for you. A warm intro from a trusted peer speaks volumes. Focus on consistent communication and thorough due diligence. Every interaction is a chance to prove reliability. Remember: They're not just buying your fund—they're betting on a long-term partnership. Build trust brick by brick, and the investments will follow.

To establish trust in venture capital, highlight your track record and industry knowledge while maintaining transparency about your strategies and risks. Regular, clear communication about progress and challenges demonstrates your commitment to transparency and accountability, essential for building lasting investor relationships.

One way to establish trust with potential investors is to leverage one's pre-VC experience and credentials. Facilitating conversations between the investors and the people one worked with can be a critical step moving forward.
