I use a method I call the Quickswitch. When things get tense, anyone can call switch, which is like a pause button. Everyone stops what they're doing. Takes five slow breaths, to calm down and cut through the tension. Next, I make team members switch roles for an hour. This helps them to understand each other's roles better since they're experiencing what the other faces. After this each person comes back and has to share a win about their challenging teammate. This approach changes how the team works together, making bonds stronger. I've seen annoyed volunteers become partners in just a few days using this quick and effective method. It turns conflicts into opportunities, moving things forward smoothly.

When conflicts arise among volunteers, I believe it’s important to address them quickly and thoughtfully to maintain a positive environment. My first step is to listen to everyone involved, ensuring they feel heard and valued. I arrange one-on-one conversations to understand their perspectives and uncover the root cause of the issue. Once I have clarity, I bring everyone together for an open discussion, focusing on solutions rather than blame.
