Guidelines for health and weight loss ads

These guidelines are provided to help advertisers comply when advertising weight loss products or services. Advertisers are responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry codes about their ads.

Ads must meet the following requirements:

  • Ads must not promote unrealistic or misleading health claims.

  • Ads must not idealize or criticize a person's weight, complexion, condition, or other physical attributes.

  • Ads must not promote or reinforce negative or unhealthy perceptions of body image, beauty standards, or health conditions.

  • Ads must not contain images depicting idealized results or graphic depictions of certain medical conditions.

Examples of content that violates our policies:

  • Ads for miracle diet products that guarantee unrealistic results or promote an unhealthy relationship with food. For example, Lose 22 kg in one week with detox tea!

  • Statements that claim or imply any body type or physical attribute is optimal or preferred.  

  • Images that depict before-and-after weight loss, beauty results, or magnify undesirable physical features. For example, wrinkles, stretch marks, hair loss.

Important to know

In special circumstances, LinkedIn might determine that a previously allowed ad is no longer appropriate as we update our policies. LinkedIn reserves the right to restrict advertising related to any health matter.
