🦠It’s #AMRAwarenessWeek! And we wanted to take the opportunity to spotlight India’s first ever comprehensive Antibiotic Resistance database—#AnresisIndia. As antimicrobial resistance (#AMR) continues to rise, doctors urgently need precise, data-backed insights to guide treatments. This is especially true in India where practises like over-the-counter access and agricultural antibiotic use accelerate the spread of #ResistantBacteria, ultimately making #Antibiotics less effective. Through an #IndoSwiss partnership initiated at the #AMRInnovationDialogue in 2023, Shraddha Karve of Ashoka University and Professor Andreas Kronenberg of the University of Bern have adapted Switzerland’s ANRESIS, the Swiss Centre for Antibiotic Resistance platform for India, creating a game-changing tool for tackling resistant bacteria.
