The Enhanced Underwriting report provides a 5–10 year perspective on the evolution of enhanced underwriting in the Lloyd's market, highlighting its opportunities, challenges, and potential to shape the market's future. The inaugural report from FIT demonstrates the crucial value that the forum can provide in convening the insurance industry. Ensuring progress on transition is critically important for us to reach a net-zero economy and to progress The Fidelis Partnership's own net-zero commitment. This new report bridges a major gap in sector-specific guidance to support that progress.

This week, Charles Mathias participated in a panel at Insurance Insider’s London Market Conference. The panel titled – ‘Your position in the transition’, saw Charles and the panel discuss how insurers can support clients in navigating the energy transition, as well as how underwriting can be a force for positive good. As part of this discussion, Charles emphasised the need to understand the scale of what we are insuring and why this sometimes leads to caution. He also highlighted a lack of C-Suite engagement on the green transition and the need to engage all areas of the business to ensure there is a holistic view. November 4th marked the 175th anniversary of the arrival of the first Portuguese immigrants to Bermuda. Last week, in recognition of their contributions and legacy, The Fidelis Partnership invited Milton Raposo to deliver a presentation on the subject and showcase excerpts from his documentary, FABRIC: Portuguese History in Bermuda. Colleagues also had the opportunity to follow up with questions during a post-screening Q&A. Milton is a Bermudian producer and filmmaker, and the sole principal of Method Media Bermuda, which produces a wide range of video content for the Bermuda Government, tourism and corporate clients, as well as making short documentary films. Last month, we proudly launched our new scholarship programme in partnership with the University of Limerick. This initiative is a result of our long-standing connection with UL and is inspired by our positive experiences with students led by Robert Ford, UL lecturer in risk and insurance. As part of Black History Month in the UK, we were honoured to welcome David Olusoga OBE to our London office for an insightful discussion on Black history. David, an acclaimed presenter, historian, and Professor of Public History at the University of Manchester, explored this year’s Black History Month theme, ‘reclaiming narratives’. He highlighted the importance of correcting historical inaccuracies and bringing forward untold stories of Black heritage, sharing examples from his impactful work. Our colleagues valued the chance to deepen their understanding of Black history in the UK and posed a wide range of questions during the discussion. A heartfelt thanks to David for such a meaningful session and to everyone from The Fidelis Partnership who attended.
