Thanks to everyone who pitched in this weekend to clean up the marine and coastal areas in Harrington Sound! Project Sound Solution and BZS organized Saturday's clean up in tandem with the kick off of Keep Bermuda Beautiful (KBB) Island-wide Coastal Clean up. The team at Church Bay in Harrington Sound collected approximately 360lbs of majority plastic debris as well as 150lbs of bottles and cans. The international Ocean Conservancy hosts a global clean-up initiative every year and there is still time to join in the clean up initiative with KBB across the island this week. The aim is to tally waste that is found along local coastlines, beaches and underwater. With this data, the Ocean Conservancy can monitor world-wide ocean pollution and waste, and we can continue to make an impact both locally and globally buy removing waste and debris from the environment and reducing our use of plastics.

🌊🌍 KBB’s 2024 Island-wide Coastal Clean-up is Underway! 🗑️ We kicked off our clean-up on Friday, September 27th with the incredible support of our sponsors, EY! Over 40 staff members came together at Horseshoe Bay Beach, making a huge impact by collecting over 800 pounds of trash and recyclables. ♻️✨ A waste audit was conducted, and the data from this clean-up will be shared with the Ocean Conservancy to contribute to global research on marine debris. Together, we're making a difference for our island and our oceans! 💙🌊 #SeatheChange #KeepBermudaBeautiful #CoastalCleanup2024 #OceanConservancy #MarineDebris #EYBermuda #KBBCommunity
